Patricia Corby, DDS, MS
Associate Vice Chancellor for Clinical Trials Development and Operations
Dr. Corby is the Associate Vice Chancellor for Clinical Trials Development and Operations at the University of Pittsburgh Health Sciences and heading the development of the CTO. As a clinical trialist, she specializes in the development, implementation, and conduct of clinical trials. Dr. Corby’s clinical experience and administration expertise are closely integrated and focused on establishing best practices for clinical research operations in compliance with Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and federal regulations. Over the last two decades, she has effectively overseen multiple federally and industry-sponsored Phase I-IV drug and device clinical trials across various research fields, serving as either an administrator, Principal Investigator (Pl) or Co-Investigator at multiple institutions.
In collaboration with leadership across the University and UPMC, Dr. Corby’s role is to develop strategies and infrastructure to strengthen the ability of Pitt Health Sciences faculty to obtain increasingly competitive clinical research awards from both traditional and emerging sponsors and to assist with building strong collaborations with industry partners, health care providers, regulatory bodies, funding agencies, and interdisciplinary teams to enhance the efficiency, quality, and outcomes of clinical trials.

Marta Gabinskiy
Director, Clinical Trials Development and Finance Operations
Marta Gabinskiy is a strategic mindset leader with over 19 years of expertise in clinical research and healthcare, her experience includes research development, strategic operations, and fiscal management. In this role, she plays a pivotal role in advancing the institution’s clinical research capabilities. Marta leverages her extensive experience to implement key strategies and cutting-edge solutions, driving operational efficiency. Recognized for her strong analytical skills, Marta excels in identifying trends, streamlining processes, and developing scalable solutions to improve research productivity. Her leadership and innovative mindset ensure high standards of efficiency, quality, and success.
Marta Gabinskiy Full Bio
Prior to joining Pitt, Marta served as Director of Research Development, Operations, and Compliance at the University of Pennsylvania, she was instrumental for the development and launch of the first Center for Clinical and Translational Research for Penn Dental Medicine. She was responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and recruitment and training of a high-performing team of clinical research professionals. Marta’s dedication and mentorship to Penn’s research community significantly contributed to the center’s expansion and growth.
Prior to joining the University of Pennsylvania, where Marta spent nearly eight years at New York University, holding roles at the Bluestone Center for Clinical and Translational Research at the NYU College of Dentistry and NYU Langone Health. She was a key contributor to the reorganization and establishment of research supporting offices such as the Clinical Trials Office and the Center for Large Scale Clinical Studies that focus on supporting investigators during the submission of multisite and large federally funded grants. She collaborated with multidisciplinary teams increasing funding and success rates. As part of Marta’s responsibilities, she also worked closely with the Langone leadership and research IT teams to build resources to facilitate clinical trials operations such as building EPIC interfaces for research and developing new processes and trainings for the research community. Additionally, she was a key team member responsible for the implementation of a new Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS). The system was an important milestone for streamlining the entire trial lifecycle of clinical trials from patient enrollment through data analysis and boosting operational efficiency.
Marta’s unique blend of technical proficiency, operational excellence, and strategic foresight has positioned her as a driving force in clinical research. With a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, and mechanical engineering, she approaches challenges with a problem-solving mindset. As a detail-oriented and highly organized leader, Marta excels in managing complex, large-scale projects, consistently delivering results within tight timelines and advancing the clinical research enterprise at Pitt Health Sciences.
