Strengthening Our Clinical Research Infrastructure

I am pleased to announce the launch of our Clinical Trials Office (CTO), a significant step toward strengthening the University of Pittsburgh’s clinical research infrastructure.

The office will establish a centralized system that will better serve patients and principal investigators, enhance our ability to secure competitive clinical research awards, accelerate testing of new treatments and translate scientific discoveries into therapeutic interventions. This will be done while maintaining rigorous scientific and ethical standards. Additionally, the CTO will provide education and training and foster Pitt-UPMC collaborations with external partners and sponsors to advance discovery, innovation and entrepreneurship across the University.

The CTO is a proud step forward for our clinical research enterprise.
